All-on-4 Dental Implants – New Braunfels
Quick & Sturdy Full-Arch Tooth Replacement
Dental implants are titanium posts that are designed to replace the roots of missing teeth. So, does that mean you need an implant for each lost tooth? No, not necessarily. With All-on-4 dental implants, you can enjoy quick and sturdy full-arch tooth replacement with as few as four implant posts! How does this treatment work, and might it be right for you? How Do All-on-4 Dental Implants Work?
During All-on-4 surgery, we may remove any remaining natural teeth. Then, we carefully insert four dental implants into your jawbone. Two go toward the back at a 45-degree angle, and two go toward the front. By utilizing areas of the bone that are naturally strong and thick, we can often avoid the need for a bone graft. We can also place a provisional (temporary) denture on top of the implants right away (that is why All-on-4 treatment is sometimes called “Teeth in a Day”). Later, after a healing period of a few months, we replace the temporary denture with a permanent one.
Am I a Candidate for All-on-4 Dental Implants?
You might be a suitable candidate for All-on-4 dental implants if:
- You are missing all or most of your teeth throughout one of your dental arches.
- Your jawbone is strong enough to support dental implants. (Most All-on-4 patients meet this criterion without a bone graft.)
- You have good habits that will support the long-term health of your dental implants. For example, you should have a thorough oral hygiene routine.
If you are unsure of whether you qualify for All-on-4 treatment, visit us for a consultation. Most patients with extensive tooth loss can get dental implants, either immediately or after some preparatory care.
Benefits of All-on-4 Dental Implants
All-on-4 treatment offers some truly remarkable benefits:
- A strong bite. You may enjoy a bite force that is almost equal to that provided by natural teeth. You will be able to eat almost any food!
- No slipping and sliding. All-on-4 dentures are very sturdy in the mouth; they do not slip and slide like traditional dentures.
- All-on-4 dentures are permanently attached to the underlying implants, so you can treat them almost just like they were natural teeth.
- Confidence and beauty. We carefully design All-on-4 dentures with the goal of making them look and feel as natural as possible.
All-on-4 vs. Traditional Dental Implants
There are some key differences between All-on-4 and traditional dental implants:
- All-on-4 treatment usually requires just one surgery, while traditional dental implants may require two or more. Because of the streamlined nature of the treatment, All-on-4 may be faster and less costly than full-arch replacement with traditional implants.
- Traditional implant methods are more versatile because they can be used to replace any number of missing teeth.
As you can see, both options have their pros and cons. During your consultation, we will help you determine which treatment may be best for your unique circumstances and preferences.
